Domestic Violence Counseling and Safety Planning DOVE staff work with individuals and families to help process their experiences and begin the healing process as well as identify safety risks and protective factors to develop an individualized safety plan.

DOVE operates an 18-bed emergency shelter for individuals and families fleeing abusive relationships.

Shelter guest services include: individual and family case management, crisis intervention/prevention, development of family strengths and needs assessment, assistance with basic needs, legal advocacy, benefits and systems advocacy, childcare, and children’s services.

The violence is mild by today's standards, with guns appearing infrequently and almost never fired. Young children and/or teens are sometimes endangered or injured, on at least one episode, by the child's abusive parents.
